The RobomedicaTM Advantage
- Electronically controlled pneumatic body weight support - Robomedica, Inc.'s electronically controlled pneumatic body weight support system allows modulation of the ground reaction forces and permits more normal center of mass movement during body weight supported stepping. Research done over the past twenty years indicates that normal neuromuscular activity and sensory input to the central nervous system is important in retraining stepping after neurologic injuries. Robomedica, Inc.'s system is the only system on the market that:
- Controls the ground reaction force
- Permits more normal center of mass movement during training
- Quantifies body weight support levels in real time througout the step cycle
- Ergonomically designed therapist seating system - The therapist seating system on the Robomedica, Inc. body weight support system is designed to give therapists a safe, comfortable and effective way to provide manual assistance to patients during step training. The seating system is elevated to allow more stable foot bracing and decrease therapist low back strain. Seats and foot braces are fully adjustable. The open architecture of the system provides complete access to the patient's legs from the sides, where it is needed for effective step training. In addition, the quadruple bungee cord stabilization system provides the patient with lateral stability during step training and allows reciprocal arm swing and avoids weight bearing on the arms.
- Complete Locomotor Training instructional program - Robomedica, Inc. offers complete a Locomotor Training instructional program for therapists. This intensive three day program is designed to enable therapists to perform safe and effective Locomotor Training with a variety of patient populations and includes a site visit by one of the course instructors.
